Who is David Fachler?
My name is David Fachler, and I am a freelance chazan, ba’al korei and communal spiritual leader. I have been conducting services over Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Great Britain for the past 20 years.
I was born in Israel, but together with my family immigrated to South Africa from a very young age. I went to high-school in Johannesburg, and attended University there. I also spent two years in Yeshiva in Israel, and have made been studying Torah seriously ever since. After qualifying as an attorney and graduating with a Masters in Law (LLM), I made aliya in 1999. I got married in Israel, and I have three children. Currently I am completing a Masters in Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University and have been simultaneously occupied in research and translations.
Since making Aliya I have regularly been invited to England to conduct High Holiday services, Pesach Seder, and to serve as temporary Rabbi at various communities. My responsibilities have included Davening, Leining, Derashot (Sermons), Shiurim (Classes), and more.
I am now looking to broaden my horizons and to conduct services at an orthodox shul in North America for the High Holidays. I have a versatile approach to Chazanut offering tradutional, Karlebach and modern Israeli tunes.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information on how I can be of service to you and your shul. You can find my contact information at the bottom of this page. I look forward to hearing from you.
